EVENT:A 2-Day Workshop on Entrepreneurship Development for college graduates was held at Islamia College of Science and Commerce, Conducted by CHINAR International in coordination with Tata Institute of Social Science. The Programme objectives

    To orient the participants on process of business plan design
    Train the youth to design businesses using local resources
    To prepare young individuals to create sustainable businesses by practicing responsible entrepreneurship
The workshop is part of CIBIC (CHINAR International Business Incubation Centre) program which was recently launched in Kashmir. So far, three youth ventures have received funding under this program. CIBC will act as a business support process that accelerates the successful development of start-up and fledgling companies by providing entrepreneurs with an array of targeted resources and services. Prof (Dr) G M Tibet Baqal, Principal of the Islamia College of Science and Commerce inaugurated the workshop. He highlighted the role of entrepreneurship in the present scenario of the valley. Prof Baqal stressed on the need of more workshops on similar lines. Prof Sajad Sarvar who coordinated the workshop also shared his thoughts on the importance of entrepreneurship development among youth. The resource persons from Tata Institute of Social Sciences included Professor Satyajit Majumdar, Professor and Chairperson, Centre for Social Entrepreneurship and Mr. Raviraj Durwas, Programme Manager, Incubation Centre, Centre for Social Entrepreneurship, School of Management and Labour Studies, coordinated different session during the workshop Irfan Shahmiri Global Director and Chairman Chinar International deliberated on the need of providing an effective ecosystem for upcoming entrepreneurship in Kashmir.
