Admission Process

The entire process of admission of the students to B.Sc./B.Com/ B.Com Hons /BCA/BBA 1st Semester including the newly introduced B.Sc IT SEMESTER-1st Batch - 2017 is online, making it student friendly, transparent and hassle free. The eligible candidates desirous of seeking admission in BG B.Sc./B.Com/ B.Com Hons /BCA/BBA including the newly introduced B.Sc IT SEMESTER-1st Batch 2018 in the College are required to go through the guidelines, contained in this Admission Prospectus, for following the online admission procedure. The Admission is as per the following:

BBA/BCA/B.COM. (HONS.)/ B.SC. IT, B.Sc. (Medical) with Bio-Chemistry and Bio-Technology as one of the subjects. GrantedGranted Purely on the basis of the selection based on merit obtained in Hr. Sec. Part-2nd Examination. Strictly as per the intake capacity in each subject / stream. However, for B.Sc. IT candidates must have Mathematics as one of the subject at 10+2 level.

The online admission process shall be completed in 2 phases. Before proceeding for Online admission process the desirous candidates have to keep their Passport size Photograph in jpg/jpeg in the range of 6 – 50 KB (size of 3.5cm x4.5 cm) and Specimen Signature ready in soft copy.

PHASE 1:

  • To start with the process of submission of application form for online-admission, the student should have to visit the College website www.islamiaCollege.edu.in.
  • Now go through the ‘Instructions’ containing, eligibility and Admission Process. Thereafter, Click the ‘Apply’ button. This will open your Application Form.
  • Enter your personal and academic details strictly as per the Higher Secondary Part-2nd besides date of birth as per Matriculation certificates and the subject combinations preferences should be chosen very carefully in the Application Form. (Subject combination once selected and allotted cannot be changed after the admission).
  • Upload your Passport size Photograph and Specimen Signature
  • Check your details carefully before you click the ‘Submit’ button
  • On successful submission of your Application form, acknowledgement message containing your name and Form No will appear on the screen of the computer. Keep record of this acknowledgement message.
  • Click the ‘Print Application Form’ button and get the printout and submit the hardcopy of the online-admission form along-with all requisite documents viz. character and provisional certificate in original, 12th class marks certificate two copies and 10th class certificate one copy in the Admission Section of the College within the stipulated period as notified in the Admission Notification issued by the College in this regard.
  • Students seeking admission in general courses (other than merit based courses) need to submit the hard copy of the Application Form along with the necessary documents and admission fee in the College during phase 1.
  • For the courses like BBA/BCA/B.COM. (HONS.)/ B.SC. IT and B.SC. (Medical) with Bio-Chemistry and Bio-Technology subjects desirous candidates have to fill up their online selection form and submit the hardcopy of the same along-with the copy of Hr. Sec. Part-2nd marks certificate along-with reserved category certificate issued by the competent authority and processing fee in the Admission Section of the College within the stipulated period as notified in the Notification issued by the College in this regard. .

PHASE 2:

(For students seeking admission in BBA/BCA/B.COM. (HONS.)/ B.SC. IT B.SC. (Medical) with Bio-Chemistry and Bio-Technology subjects)

  • After submission of selection form along-with the requisite documents and processing fee in the Admission Section of the College complete in all respects. Incomplete selection forms and forms deficient of documents shall not be entertained.
  • After scrutinizing the selection forms and 12th class marks certificate(s), the selection list of candidates purely on merit basis will be drawn up by the College Admission Committee. The selection status and the select list will be uploaded on the College website for want of any objection from the candidates within two days from the date of uploading on the College website, thereafter no application/request shall be entertained by the College.
  • After receiving of objections/observations (if any) from the candidates, the College Admission Committee shall assess the same on case to case basis that too on merits.
  • After the said process the selection lists on merit basis of BBA/BCA/B.COM. (HONS.)/ B.Sc. IT and B.SC. (Medical) with Bio-Chemistry and Bio-Technology subjects shall be issued within the approved intake capacity of each programme /subjects.
  • The selected candidates shall have to fill-up their on-line admission forms and submit the hardcopies of the same along-with the requisite documents and admission fee in the Admission Section of the College within the stipulated period as mentioned in the selection list.
  • Those of the candidates who fail to complete their admission formalities after issuance of the selection list within the stipulated period shall lose his/her seat and the next candidate from the waiting list on merit shall be allowed for the said resultant vacancy.
  • Enclose all the documents as required along with affidavit / affidavits, duly attested, and the bank challan, with the signed admission form. Also attach Photo Admission Card that is available with the Admission Brochure, after pasting your recent passport size photograph and completing other details given therein. Submit the form, complete in all respects, in the College for verification of the documents and the details contained in the form. Once approved by the Admission Committee, the student shall be required to deposit the admission fee in the bank.
  • The admission fee once deposited is non-refundable and non- transferable.
  • The last date of receipt of hardcopies for selection forms along with the requisite documents shall be cut-off date i.e., 31st of January, 2018 for determination of the merit list.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

  • Only those students, who have passed their Higher Secondary Part II examination (class 12th) in full of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education/CBSE or an examination recognized as its equivalent by the University of Kashmir/JKBOSE shall be eligible for admission. However, for Science stream, candidates having secured not less than 45% marks in case of open merit and 40% marks in case of reserved categories (in accordance with SRO”s issued by the State Government from time to time) in aggregate shall be eligible for admission in SEMESTER-1st Batch 2018. However, for BBA/BCA/B.Com(Hons.) and B.Sc. IT candidates having secured not less than 50% marks in case of open merit and 45% marks in case of reserved categories (in accordance with SRO”s issued by the State Government from time to time). in aggregate shall be eligible for admission in SEMESTER-1st Batch 2018.
  • The candidates who’s results are yet to be declared by the JKBOSE/CBSE or other boards approved by the competent authorities including re-evaluation / re-checking cases etc. are not eligible for admission in BBA/BCA/B.COM. (HONS.)/ B.SC. IT, B.Sc. (Medical) with Bio-Chemistry and Bio-Technology subjects. However, such candidates shall be allowed admission in B.Sc./B.Com. General course purely on provisional basis on their own risk and responsibility on production of an undertaking to the effect that their provisional admission shall automatically stand cancelled in case they fail to fulfill the eligibility requirements to be determined by reference to their result status (in case they failed in their 12th class examinations their provisional admission in the College shall stand cancelled automatically abi-nitio and for that they shall have no claim whatsoever). For admission to B.Sc. IT Semester 1st only candidates having Mathematics as one of the subjects at 12th class level are eligible.
  • Students seeking admission to Semester-1st Batch 2018 of B.Sc./B.Com. programme should have secured minimum of 45% of marks in case of open merit and 40% marks in case of reserved category (in accordance with SRO’s issued by the State Govt. From time to time) in class XII examination. For admission to Semester-1st Batch 2018 of BCA/BBA/B.Sc.IT programme, students should have secured minimum of 50% marks in 12th class for general category and 45% in case of reserved categories. However, the eligibility of the pass out candidates of 12th class other than JKBOSE/CBSE shall be determined subject to the submission of Original Migration Certificate(s) from respective institutions and equivalence certificate of 12th class from JKBOSE. The College Admission Committee has to check the status of the Boards(s) prior to their admission to the course(s) in the College.
  • The admission of students, with break in their academic career, will be considered. Such of the students may be considered by the College Admission Committee provided the latter feels satisfied about the reasons of the break thereof. Such of the students with break in their academic career will have to attach the affidavit along with the other certificates to the effect that during the intervening period they were not on rolls of the any institutions etc.
  • The selected students have to submit the admission form in the College along with all the documents and deposit the admission fee before the last date notified for the purpose. Student failing to deposit the fee in time shall forfeit the claim for admission and that seat shall be allotted to next student in merit list.
  • The re-admission cases shall be entertained as per statutory provisions.
